Kalamazoo River Walk

Kalamazoo River, Linear Park Walkway P3W52 Battle Creek, MI
United States
Wednesday, July 25, 2012 - 6:00pm

Join other impacted community members to mark two year's passing since the Enbridge tar sands oil spill into the Kalamazoo River Watershed. You can join our group at the Linear Park walkway, a little west of Downtown Battle Creek (map below) or you can join us in solidarity and create your own walk.

If you love the Great Lakes and want to protect them from future spills, if you’ve been impacted by an oil spill, will be impacted by pipeline expansion projects, or you oppose the risks tar sands poses to the State of Michigan, Great Lakes and our nation – please join us in this solidarity event where we will create signs and walk a short length of the river.

This event will help show the public how many people were impacted by this disaster (directly or indirectly) and emphasize that change must happen. We must learn from these mistakes and let our lawmakers know we still want solutions!

State lawmakers and Congress will be invited to attend.

We will invite the press, and hold a quick press conference, at the end of the event for those that would like to participate and answer questions.
